Any minors (up to and including 14 years old) to be picked up and dropped off by Abbey Cars, must be picked up and dropped off at specific agreed locations.
These pick up and drop off locations must be agreed in writing and in advance.
Any changes must be notified in writing and in advance.
Abbey Cars can only accept responsibility for minors for the duration of travel between the agreed pick up and drop off locations.
Parents and/or guardians should be present at drop off points at the time of dropping off.
Please note that all drivers have passenger transport group badges. This includes an enhanced criminal records bureau (CRB) check.
Attention must be bought to the behaviour of any unaccompanied minors. We cannot allow unacceptable behaviour in our vehicles, this would include the use of offensive language, assault in any form or wilful damage and vandalism.
Our drivers would normally expel from the vehicle anybody behaving in an unacceptable manner. This would not apply to minors.
a minor who is behaving in an unacceptable manner towards our driver, vehicle or another minor in our care, may be refused any further pick ups. Parents or guardians will be informed of any cases of unacceptable behaviour.
District council regulations prohibit anyone under the age of 10 years, from sitting in the front seat of a private hire vehicle (or taxi).
Abbey Cars requests information, for use in emergency or in the event of unexpected problems. This information will be kept confidential.
